MAPAC Endorses for 2008 Election

The Muslim American Public Affairs Council (MAPAC) of
North Carolina had a special public meeting today 10/19/08
to discuss endorsements for the 2008 elections on
November 4th.

About 15 attendees discussed in depth the different seats
starting with the Presidential race and going down to State
and County levels.

One of the criterion for endorsement is that MAPAC must
have enough information about each candidate it endorses.
MAPAC decided not to endorse for some seats due to this
same criterion.

MAPAC stresses the fact that it doesn't have any animosity
with any of the candidates. The endorsement of one
candidate over the other is only due to  familiarity and
positions of the candidate regarding our issues of interest
to Muslims in North Carolina. A democratic voting process
took place among MAPAC officials attending the meeting
and the result is the following endorsement list which we
urge all Muslims to vote for.
