NC gives a big boost to Senator Obama
May 6 primary election in NC gave Senator Barack Obama a big victory of
over 14% over rival Senator Clinton. "The turn out was huge especially
among Afro-Americans in Knighdale where I campaigned for Obama and
Janet Cowel" Said Waleed Elhentaty the media director of MAPAC and a
supporter of Barack Obama. A total number of voters of over 2 millions
voted in the primary most of them voted on the Democratic Ballot . "This is
the first time I see such huge primary turn out in the last 20 years at least"
Said John McLaufin a NC precinct judge". The turn out was also huge among
women who out numbered men by over 10%. Senator Obama gained 16  extra
lead in  pledged delegates and 9 more super delegates after his victory in NC.
It is becoming mathematically impossible for Senator Clinton to make up the
lead of Obama in the next 6 State's primaries given that Obama is favored in
some of these states. It is time for Clinton to find an "exit strategy" from this
campaign simply because the longer she stay the more damage she is doing to
herself, the general election, and to the Democratic Party.

Janet Cowell Wins The Primary
By more than 10% Senator Janet Cowell won the NC Democratic Party's
nomination for the NC treasurer's seat. Senator Cowell got 46% of the votes
avoiding a run-off election against her closest rival David Young. It is known
that MAPAC endorsed Senator Cowell for the treasurer's seat and some of
its members helped in her campaign and fundraisings. Senator Cowell still
needs our support against the republican nominee in November.

Fundraising for Janet Cowell Organized by MAPAC
conducted on Tuesday 4/8/08 @7PM At MAPAC Office.
The meeting with Senator Cowell was very informative.
Waleed Elhentaty, MAPAC's Media Director,
introduced the local Muslim attendees to Senator
Cowell then Dr. Khodr Zaarour, MAPAC's political
director, talked about the importance of political
activism and supporting candidates like Senator Cowell
who has been als\ways supportive to the Muslim
community's concerns. After Dinner Senator Cowell
talked for 10 minutes about her political life since she
was studying in China and felt how important and
precious the democratic process is here in the US. After
that and in an informal way, a question and answer
session started with Senator Cowell who shed light on a
lot of important points regarding her campaign, the
importance of the treasure's seat, and why she chose to
run for this particular seat and her qualifications for it.
The meeting was concluded at 9PM after collecting
over $2000.00 plus several pledges to donate directly at
cowell's website
www.CowellForTreasurer.com . Please help our friend
Janet Cowell.
